The Hong Kong Sea School (HKSS) is a boarding school for underprivileged boys in Stanley, Hong Kong. All kids in the school have either family or academic problems and, for most, it is a school of last resort - if they don’t go here, they don’t go anywhere. It has a strong maritime background and tries to aid in the promotion of sea sports as this gives additional opportunities to the boys. The Sea School raises funds to help the boys reach their potential in sea sports (sailing, windsurfing and canoeing) and the goal of the programs is to give them a future by having them reach HK representative levels in these sports. The school is gradually building a competitive paddling culture and the local paddling community has donated a number of surf skis for use by the boys.

In recent years school has had to rely more and more on its generous supporters to help achieve its vision of helping Hong Kong underprivileged boys reach their full potential as government subsidies have reduced. This vision has, for the past 60 years, been realized in the thousands upon thousands of boys who have graduated to successful careers in the maritime and hospitality industries.

Your donation, no matter the size, allows HKSS to continue its long standing tradition of providing its students with a maritime based discipline education that helps each child develop into a well rounded and socially responsible citizen.

From the hiring of specialist staff, to the purchase of marine equipment and the payment of tuition that students and their families find hard or impossible to afford, your donation will help provide students with a path to life success. Your donation can be in the form of the following:

1)Boarding
sponsorship HK$12,000 per annum pays for an entire year’s boarding fee for a single student

2) Traditional Sponsorship
In units of HK$3,600 per annum help pay for sea activities (HKOCC donate to the canoe kayak programme)

3) Work Placement / Scholarship
Businesses can support HKSS by providing internships.

4) General
Any donation to support our boys overall development.
